 Isaiah Thompson, Executive Director

Isaiah Thompson is a proud member of The San Pasqual Band of Mission Indians. The tribe is located in San Diego, California. Isaiah attended Sherman Indian High School where he found academic and athletic success. During his time at Sherman, he became one of the most decorated athletes in Sherman's history by winning multiple championships in cross country and track & field. Isaiah was the salutatorian of Sherman's class of 2013. Isaiah accepted a scholarship to run NCAA Division 1 cross country and track & field at the University of California, Irvine. Similar to high school, he was a highly decorated athlete at UC Irvine. Isaiah graduated from the University of California, Irvine in June of 2017 with one bachelor's degree in sociology and another one in educational sciences. Isaiah is the first former participant of the program to be appointed the Executive Director position.

 Raymond Santiago, Program Manager

Raymond was born in Chula Vista, Ca and was raised on the Viejas Indian Reservation. He has played on the Viejas ITS team since he was 12 years old. Raymond attended Grossmont College where he studied sports and recreation. 

He worked at the Viejas Recreation Center as their Recreation Aid for the past 7 years, where he worked very closely with the after school program and the athletics department. He learned a lot from his time at the Viejas Recreation Center and is excited to bring what he has learned to Inter Tribal Sports.

  Noel Madrigal, Program Coordinator

Noel Madrigal grew up on the Cahuilla reservation and is from both the Cahuilla and Luiseño tribes. At a young age, Noel was taught her culture by her parents and also the elders of the community. This foundation has helped her follow in her parent’s footsteps as she teaches cultural classes which include traditional basket weaving, wiiwish making, beadwork, ribbon skirt making, and language.

Noel began her pursuit of higher education at Mt. San Jacinto College. During this time, she was also working as a teacher for the St. Jude Catholic School which is located on the Soboba reservation. At MSJC, she attained her AA. Noel then transferred to California State University, Long Beach where she would obtain her bachelor’s degree in psychology and a certificate in American Indian studies. Noel is now committed to working with youth to unify them through sports and culture.

Program Aides

Serve as on-site point of contact for the organization at league and event locations. Assist with registration, participant eligibility verification, and data collection. Ensure programs remain on schedule and serve as primary contact for officials, scorekeepers, and coaches. The current Program Aides are:
